The Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Municipal Symphonic Band, founded in 1888, is one of the city's most representative cultural institutions. With over 135 years of history, it carries out extensive work in musical outreach, combining traditional and contemporary repertoire, with a special focus on Canarian and Spanish cultural roots.

Its programming includes open-air concerts, thematic series, and collaborations with national and international artists, bringing music to diverse audiences and promoting access to culture.

Currently, the Band consists of 37 professional musicians and is conducted by Juan Antonio Roda Sapiña, with Germán Arias as artistic director. Under their leadership, it has consolidated an artistic approach open to innovation, dialogue between styles, and connection with the community through educational concerts and free events.

Internationally, its participation in the Midwest Clinic stands out, as well as projects such as "Vereda Tropical," with Olga Cerpa and Mestisay, which received acclaim in Cuba and was nominated for a Latin Grammy.

The City Council is promoting the preservation of its musical heritage through the digitization and dissemination of its historical archive, guaranteeing its preservation and future access.

Today, the Municipal Symphonic Band continues to be a cultural landmark in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with a dynamic schedule and a clear commitment to public service.
