Calles con Arte transforms the neighbourhoods of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria into vibrant spaces for creativity, participation and community life. The project recognises and promotes the culture that emerges from within each neighbourhood, celebrating its unique identities, memories and forms of expression.

On 3 October, the emblematic neighbourhood of Schamann will become the setting for a new edition of the initiative, with Zaragoza Street as its main axis and a multidisciplinary programme featuring visual arts, music, dance, local memory and participatory activities.

Local artists, galleries, art academies, schools, educational centres, businesses and community organisations will come together to turn the streets into open-air spaces for artistic and cultural expression, where citizens are not simply spectators but active participants in the creation and development of culture.

Calles con Arte – Schamann aims to strengthen social cohesion, support local businesses and community networks, and showcase the neighbourhood as a vibrant, creative and welcoming space.

The project forms part of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria’s bid to become European Capital of Culture 2031, “Rebelión de la Geografía”, highlighting neighbourhoods as key protagonists in the city’s cultural life.
